Just a simple cloth bag...

can help a woman regain control over her own life! The UseMeAgain cloth bags campaign from eCoexist has been offering income generation opportunities to women with a basic level of sewing skills, while promoting the use of cloth bags to replace plastic carry bags.

For the past six years, the UseMeAgain campaign has worked with women prisoners, self help groups and individual women who need to work and earn from home. We have been collaborating with NGOs such as Surajya Sarvangin Vikas Prakalp, Udyogita Cooperative, Mahila Pragati and groups in other cities such as Sangli and Madurai as well.
While we wait for the state governments in India to enforce a ban on plastic carry bags, we are preparing these women to make simple cloth bags that can fulfill the demand when it arrives. Right now we take on the responsibility of marketing the bags and the women are paid immediately on finishing their orders, so they need not have to wait for sales. On an average a woman can earn between 200 - 300 Rs a day making cloth bags, depending on her level of skill and efficiency.

By purchasing the eCoexist cloth bags you will be helping empower these women.
